Shipping Foreman

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Fargo, ND area. Our client is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead daily fabrication shop activities and crews.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise shop or shipping crews and assign daily work
• Ensure production meets schedule, quality, and safety standards
• Coordinate with production management on priorities and material flow
• Train and develop shop employees
• Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work area

Position Essential Job Functions:

• Review shop drawings and work orders with crew members
• Monitor fit-up, welding, and finishing or loading and shipping activities
• Verify quality and completeness before parts move on
• Track labor, production, and material usage
• Report equipment, staffing, and schedule issues

Position Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in a structural steel or metal fabrication shop
• Prior lead or foreman experience
• Strong ability to read shop drawings
• Knowledge of welding processes and AWS D1.1 standards
• Experience in an AISC-certified shop a plus
• Forklift and overhead crane experience
