Location: North Haven, Connecticut area (Hybrid) Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 base salary
About the Opportunity
A well-established, growing Connecticut CPA firm is looking for a Senior Auditor to join its audit practice. This is a hands-on role managing engagements from start to finish, with a defined path to Audit Manager, Audit Director, and Audit Partner, at a firm known for its collaborative culture and strong work-life balance. Municipal and nonprofit audit experience is preferred, but training is available for candidates with strong general audit experience.
What You'll Do
- Manage audit engagements from planning through completion
- Perform and review audit procedures, documentation, and financial statements
- Work directly with clients throughout each engagement
- Mentor, direct, and help train junior staff
- Research technical accounting and auditing questions
- Work on municipal, nonprofit, and other assurance engagements
- Partner closely with leadership on client service
What You Bring
- CPA or CPA eligible
- 3+ years of public accounting experience with strong audit experience
- Ability to manage engagements from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
- Hands-on mentoring experience and strong client communication skills
- Municipal and nonprofit audit experience preferred; Form 5500 experience a plus
