Safety Technician

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Evansville, IN area. Our client is seeking a Safety Technician to support day-to-day safety in the shop and field.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support daily safety activities in the fabrication shop and on job sites
• Perform safety inspections and identify hazards
• Help deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks
• Maintain safety records, training logs, and documentation
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations

Position Essential Job Functions:

• Conduct shop and jobsite safety walks and audits
• Check PPE, equipment, fall protection, and rigging gear
• Track employee training and certifications
• Help maintain OSHA logs and safety reports
• Follow up on corrective actions with supervisors

Position Skills:

• 1+ years of safety experience in construction, steel erection, or manufacturing
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
