Our client, a respected multi-discipline civil engineering and surveying consulting firm in Metro Detroit, is seeking a Road Design Engineer to join its growing transportation group working on municipal, county, and state roadway projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, and details for reconstruction and resurfacing projects
- Design geometrics, grading, drainage, and maintenance of traffic plans
- Develop quantities, cost estimates, and specifications
- Coordinate with road agencies, utilities, and project teams
- Support projects through plan review and construction phases
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; PE track encouraged
- 1-5 years of roadway design experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with MDOT and local agency standards preferred
