Original job description

Are you the person who keeps a federal job on spec, on schedule and ready for every inspection? A federal general contractor with steady government and military construction work in Western Arkansas is hiring a Quality Control Manager. You'll own the quality program from the first submittal through final turnover, partnering with the project manager, superintendent and government QA team to deliver work that's built right the first time.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain the project Quality Control Plan and keep the submittal register current
  • Review shop drawings, product data and submittals for compliance with plans and specifications
  • Run the three-phase control process with preparatory, initial and follow-up inspections for each definable feature of work
  • Write accurate daily QC reports and lead weekly quality meetings with the project team and subcontractors
  • Inspect materials on delivery, coordinate testing and third-party inspections, and track every deficiency to closure
  • Keep quality records organized in RMS/QCS and prepare complete closeout and turnover documentation
  • Stop work when necessary to protect quality and jobsite safety

What You Bring

  • Experience as a quality control manager or QC lead on federal, military or government building projects
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification, or the ability to obtain it
  • Hands-on knowledge of the three-phase inspection system, RMS/QCS and EM 385-1-1
  • A solid understanding of building systems, specifications and construction documents
  • Clear communication and the confidence to work with superintendents, subcontractors and government representatives

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, bonus and benefits
  • Health and dental insurance, plus company-paid life and long-term disability coverage
  • Paid vacation and holidays and a 401(k)
  • Relocation assistance if needed
  • Long-term federal work with a team that supports its quality leaders

Advance your career in construction. Apply today and send your resume to Jenn LaQua, your construction recruiter at GPAC.
