Seeking a seasoned Quality Control Manager to head up QC for a structural steel fabrication operation focused on bridge work near Columbia, Missouri. You will be responsible for the quality program from incoming material through final inspection, ensuring every bridge component meets AWS D1.5 and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the shop QC program for steel bridge fabrication, including inspection plans, documentation, and NCR/corrective action
- Perform and oversee ultrasonic testing (UT) of welds
- Ensure compliance with AWS D1.5, owner/DOT specs, and contract documents
- Review shop drawings, WPS/PQRs, and welder qualifications
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and owner/DOT inspectors
Requirements:
- ASNT UT Level II certification (required)
- Hands-on AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code experience (required)
- QC experience in structural steel or bridge fabrication
- CWI certification a plus
