Original job description
Marlborough and the I-495 corridor west of Boston have become New England's go-to spot for data center and mission-critical builds, thanks to reliable power, strong fiber and room to grow. A respected general contractor is hiring a Project Manager – Data Center Construction to lead projects in the area. If you like technical, fast-moving work and a supportive, down-to-earth team, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Lead data center and mission-critical projects from preconstruction and estimating through commissioning and closeout
- Own the budget, buyout, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasting and owner billing
- Serve as the go-to contact for owners, engineers and electrical, mechanical and controls partners
- Track long-lead equipment like switchgear, UPS systems, generators and cooling units so the schedule stays on target
- Work hand in hand with superintendents on safety, quality and site logistics, including New England winters
- Coach and grow assistant project managers and project engineers
What You Bring
- Project management experience with a general contractor, including data center or mission-critical projects (required)
- A good handle on critical power, cooling, MEP coordination and integrated systems testing
- A track record of bringing complex projects in on time and on budget
- Friendly, clear communication and a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
What We Offer
$125,000–$170,000 plus bonus and benefits, a steady pipeline of mission-critical work around Greater Boston, and a team that backs your growth.
