A San Diego area general contractor is seeking a commercial construction professional who can lead that effort with sound judgment, clear communication, and consistent follow-through.

You’ll work alongside superintendents, owners, and trade partners to turn project plans into completed work. This role calls for someone who understands the financial side of construction, stays engaged with the field, and addresses challenges before they become larger problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct commercial construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, cost reports, and financial projections.
  • Coordinate subcontractor selection, scope reviews, buyout, and purchasing.
  • Administer contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project records.
  • Collaborate with superintendents on sequencing, logistics, and field coordination.
  • Serve as a primary contact for owners, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Run project meetings and provide timely updates on milestones and outstanding issues.
  • Work with project teams to uphold quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Manage final inspections, punch work, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Background managing commercial construction projects with a general contractor.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, contract requirements, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience controlling costs, maintaining schedules, and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and make practical, timely decisions.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Procore or comparable construction management platforms.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base compensation
  • Bonus opportunities tied to performance.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Continued learning and career growth opportunities.
