Our client, an established heavy highway contractor, is hiring a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager in the Roanoke, VA area. You will support a major multi-year interstate widening project, offering long-term stability and the chance to grow with one large project from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Support the project manager on budgets, schedules, cost tracking and change orders
- Manage submittals, RFIs and project documentation
- Track quantities, production and monthly pay estimates
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers and DOT inspectors
- Review plans and specifications and help resolve field issues
- Help keep the project safe, on schedule and on budget
Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM on heavy highway, bridge, DOT or roadway projects
- Working knowledge of DOT specifications and documentation
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred
- EIT or PE a plus
