Original job description
We are seeking an Operations Analyst Manager to lead financial and operational analysis across two regional manufacturing facilities.
This role connects plant floor activities directly to company financials. You will investigate cost variances, track efficiency, quantify margin performance, and collaborate closely with both local plant leadership and the corporate finance team.
This role requires a candidate who thrives in a true 50/50 mix:
- 50% Plant Floor Investigations: Hands-on operational analysis, investigating cost and margin variances, finding root causes on the production floor, and working with plant managers to drive profitability.
- 50% Desk & Financial Reporting: Routine data entry, system data maintenance, building/tracking plant KPIs, and partnering remotely with corporate finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational and financial analysis across two regional plant facilities.
- Perform cost and variance analysis to pinpoint where actual production results differ from budget and why.
- Build, maintain, and report plant KPIs to plant managers and senior leadership.
- Execute routine data entry, data cleaning, and reporting tasks with high accuracy.
- Partner with the corporate finance team on cost accounting and profitability modeling.
- Drive operational excellence projects that increase yield, reduce waste, and protect margins.
Qualifications:
- Required: Previous experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Required: Full commitment to a 50/50 work split between floor-level investigations and routine desk/data maintenance tasks.
- Required: Ability to travel between and support both regional plant locations.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred: Experience in food manufacturing or process-based manufacturing operations.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in financial modeling/data management.
