This company self-performs HVAC, plumbing, and process piping work across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects, including hospitals, schools, office, retail, data centers, manufacturing plants, and multifamily. This is a great opportunity, and if you want to join a reputable company that promotes internal growth, then this is the position for you.

  • Client Communication: Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners, engineers, and architects. Manage RFIs, submittals, and progress updates throughout the project.
  • Coordination: Lead MEP coordination and BIM/clash detection meetings. Coordinate with field superintendents, foremen, fabrication shops, and controls and TAB subcontractors.
  • Procurement: Buy out and track major equipment such as RTUs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, pumps, and plumbing fixtures to keep projects on schedule.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Track job costs, labor hours, and change orders, and forecast monthly to protect margin and avoid overruns.
  • Quality Control: Ensure ductwork, piping, and plumbing installations meet plans, specifications, and code, including inspections and startup.
  • Schedule Management: Keep projects on schedule and adjust plans for changes and unforeseen conditions.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture and enforce OSHA requirements for every crew and subcontractor.
  • Documentation and Closeout: Maintain contracts, change orders, O&M manuals, as-builts, commissioning records, and warranty documentation.

Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of project management experience with a commercial or industrial mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing contractor.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, sheet metal, hydronic and process piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with IMC, IPC, and local mechanical and plumbing codes.
  • Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar software.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Engineering or construction management degree, PMP, or trade background a plus.
