About the Company
gpac partners with well established commercial mechanical contractors in the Chicago market performing HVAC, plumbing and piping work on commercial and industrial projects.
About the Role
The Mechanical Estimator prepares complete estimates for HVAC, plumbing and piping work on commercial and industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform takeoffs and build cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Review drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing and piping scopes
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare bid packages and proposals
- Identify value engineering opportunities
- Hand off awarded work to project management
Required
- 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of mechanical construction methods, materials and pricing
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- QuickPen, Autobid, Trimble or similar estimating software
- Bluebeam
Compensation and Benefits
- $90,000 to $125,000, based on experience
