Litigation Associate Attorney

I'm working with a well-established Billings law firm that's adding a Litigation Associate after a retirement. You'd handle a mix of litigation and general practice matters with a supportive team and real potential for partnership.

What you'll do:

• Manage a variety of litigation matters, primarily defense, with occasional plaintiff-side cases
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
• Develop case strategy with partners and other attorneys
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
• Take part in settlement negotiations and ADR
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and other pre-trial proceedings (trial attendance is rare)
• Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and evidence
• Keep accurate billing records toward the firm's annual billable hours goal

What you'll bring:

• Litigation experience
• General practice experience is a plus
