Original job description
Kentwood, MI (West Michigan) | Office + some field | Permanent - Full-time | $75K-$100K, DOE
Our client, an established, employee-owned civil engineering, surveying and planning firm, is adding a Landscape Architect to its West Michigan office. You'll work closely with the Land Development group on site design projects while staying connected to the firm's Landscape Architecture team in other offices. This role is ideal for a self-directed LA who is comfortable being the go-to landscape architect in the office.
What you'll do:
- Lead landscape architecture and site design for land development projects, including commercial, residential, municipal and institutional sites
- Prepare site plans, landscape and planting plans, hardscape details, grading concepts and construction documents
- Collaborate daily with civil engineers and planners on integrated site development projects
- Coordinate with the firm's other Landscape Architects to share standards, resources and workload
- Prepare renderings and graphics for client presentations, public meetings and municipal approvals
- Review ordinances and help guide projects through site plan approval; support construction administration
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Landscape Architecture
- Licensed Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) preferred, or on a clear path to licensure
- Experience in land development/site design within a multidisciplinary engineering or design firm
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D plus graphics tools (Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp or similar)
- Ability to work autonomously as the only LA in the office while collaborating remotely with LAs elsewhere
- Strong communication and client-service skills; valid driver's license
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Why join:
- Autonomy and visibility as the lead landscape architect in the office, with the support of a broader LA team
- Employee-owned firm with room to grow
- 401(k)/retirement plan, health, dental, vision, HSA, life insurance, PTO, bonus pay, tuition reimbursement
