Heavy Civil Bridge Estimator
Our client, an established heavy civil construction and paving contractor, is hiring a Bridge Estimator in the Indianapolis, IN area. The company self-performs bridges, highway construction, concrete, asphalt paving, excavation and underground utilities across the Midwest. This is a confidential search.
What you'll do:
- Estimate and bid bridge projects, including new construction, replacement and rehabilitation
- Perform quantity takeoffs for structural concrete, rebar, steel, piling and earthwork
- Build crew, equipment and material pricing, and evaluate sub and supplier quotes
- Review plans, specs and DOT bid documents, and attend pre-bid meetings
- Support operations with handoff and buyout on awarded work
What we're looking for:
- Bridge or heavy civil estimating experience with a contractor
- Strong understanding of bridge construction methods and sequencing
- Familiarity with DOT lettings and estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid or similar a plus)
- Detail oriented, organized and a strong communicator
Compensation:
- Base salary from $90,000 to $130,000, and flexibility above that for an exceptional candidate
