Summary: An established, independent lumber and building materials dealer along the Central Texas I-35 corridor is looking for a hands-on General Manager who also owns purchasing. You'll run the yard and grow the business.
What You'll Do
- Lead day-to-day operations: yard, sales counter, delivery and staff
- Own purchasing and inventory for lumber, sheet goods and building materials, and negotiate with mills and vendors
- Manage the P&L, margins and pricing
- Build relationships with contractors and builders across Central Texas
- Hire, train and develop the team, and keep safety front and center
What You Bring
- 5+ years in lumber or building materials, with management or purchasing experience
- Strong grasp of lumber markets and commodity buying
- P&L, inventory and people leadership experience
