A respected commercial builder in the western Chicago suburbs is looking for a Field Engineer to join its project team. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being on site, solving problems and learning how great projects come together from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Support the superintendent and project manager with day-to-day field operations
- Review drawings and specifications, and help resolve field conflicts
- Track RFIs, submittals and as-built documentation from the field
- Coordinate layout, inspections and quality checks with trade partners
- Keep daily reports, photos and logs accurate and up to date
- Help promote a safe, organized and productive jobsite
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of field experience with a general contractor or construction manager (internships count)
- A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field, or equal experience
- Ability to read construction documents and a working knowledge of building systems
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Comfort with Procore, Bluebeam or similar software

- Pay range: $70,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience
