Original job description
A well-established commercial general contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is adding an Estimator to its preconstruction team. You'll help price ground-up commercial projects from early budgets through final bids, working alongside a team that values accuracy, collaboration and long-term growth.
What You'll Do
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates for ground-up commercial projects
- Solicit, review and level subcontractor and supplier bids
- Review drawings and specifications to define scopes and catch gaps
- Help build conceptual budgets and hard-bid pricing
- Work with project managers and superintendents on constructability and value engineering
- Support the handoff of awarded projects to the operations team
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of commercial estimating experience, including at least 1 year with a general contractor
- Experience on ground-up commercial projects
- Strong take-off skills and comfort with estimating software
- Good organization, attention to detail and clear communication
- A degree in construction management or a related field is a plus
