We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the department operations of our growing custom Cabinetry and Millwork division. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the technical design and manufacturing engineering functions within the custom cabinetry and architectural millwork operation. This role oversees Design Engineers and CNC Programmers, ensuring projects transition seamlessly from concept and shop drawings to CNC-ready production while meeting quality, schedule, and cost objectives. The Engineering Manager will serve as the technical bridge between design, production, project management, and installation teams.

Job Type: Full Time, On-site

Responsibilities for the Engineering Manager:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Design Engineers and CNC Programmers.
  • Oversee the creation of accurate, production-ready shop drawings for custom cabinetry and millwork projects.
  • Ensure all engineering outputs meet architectural intent, client specifications, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Review and approve drawings, cut lists, CNC programs, and bills of materials prior to release.
  • Supervise CNC programming for routers, panel saws, edge-banders, and related equipment.
  • Partner with production and shop leadership to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, SOPs, and best practices for drafting, programming, and data flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors, rework, and cycle times.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Sales, Estimating, and Production teams to align scope, schedule, and deliverables.

Requirements of the Engineering Manager:

  • 5+ years of experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or woodworking manufacturing.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing engineering and/or CNC teams.
  • Manage and optimize the use of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Mozaik, WoodWOP, or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and shop workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
