Design Supervisor

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Tyler, TX area. Our client is seeking an Engineering / Design leader to manage the engineering and design team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop engineers and designers
• Oversee design quality, standards, and code compliance
• Plan engineering workload and schedules
• Partner with estimating, project management, and production
• Manage engineering budgets and resources

Position Essential Job Functions:

• Review and approve designs, calculations, and drawings
• Resolve complex technical issues
• Develop design standards and tools
• Support sales and estimating on technical questions
• Recruit and mentor engineering staff

Position Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
• 7+ years of structural or metal building design experience
• PE license strongly preferred
• Prior engineering leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of AISC and related codes
