Project Manager I – Commercial Construction

Location: Troy, MI / Southeast MichiganEmployment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

We're partnering with an established commercial general contractor seeking a motivated, hands-on Project Manager to join its Southeast Michigan team!

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, coordinating with field teams, managing budgets, and delivering successful projects from start to finish.

The Opportunity

You'll oversee a major commercial renovation project involving a high-rise senior living facility. This project will require strong organization, communication, scheduling, and coordination skills, particularly in an active, occupied building environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial construction project operations.

• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and timelines.

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.

• Work closely with Superintendents and project teams.

• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement.

• Monitor project costs and maintain budget controls.

• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met.

• Maintain project documentation and reporting.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in commercial construction project management.

• Background working for a commercial General Contractor (GC).

• Experience managing projects valued at $15M+ preferred.

• Commercial renovation, multifamily, or occupied-building experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and subcontractor management.

• Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project preferred.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work on-site and travel to jobsites throughout Southeast Michigan.
