An experienced Controller with a strong construction accounting background is needed to lead financial operations for a growing construction organization in Columbia, Missouri. Candidates local to the Columbia area or open to relocating are welcome, and relocation assistance is available for the right person.
Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000+ base, plus bonus opportunity up to 30%.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly close and financial reporting across the organization and its subsidiaries
- Prepare and manage WIP (work-in-progress) reports and over/under billing analysis
- Oversee percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing
- Direct cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and investment decisions
- Handle intercompany accounting and consolidations across multiple entities
- Build board-level financial reviews and presentations for ownership and leadership
Requirements:
- Controller or senior accounting leadership experience in construction
- Deep knowledge of WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion billing
- Experience with multi-entity/subsidiary accounting and consolidations
- Proven track record managing investment and cash flow issues
- Able to produce clear, board-ready financial reviews
- CPA and bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred
