A community bank in Iowa City is confidentially looking for a self-motivated Commercial Lender to grow and manage business relationships across Johnson County and east central Iowa. You'll handle business development, underwriting, structuring, closing, and servicing for owner-operated firms and commercial real estate clients.
Responsibilities:
- Map each client's goals to the right loan and deposit mix
- Introduce treasury tools and other bank services where they add value
- Steward and deepen an existing commercial book over time
- Hit agreed loan and deposit growth targets
- Set up and onboard new business deposit relationships
- Judge credit quality and prepare memos plus closing paperwork
Qualifications:
- Business or finance four-year degree preferred
- Client-facing commercial lending background
- Comfortable presenting deals and talking with owners
- Experience building proposals and underwriting credits
- Keeps several active deals organized at once
- Local Iowa City business ties are a plus
