Commercial Lender

A community bank in Newton is confidentially looking for a Commercial Lender to build business banking relationships across Jasper County and central Iowa. You'll develop new clients, underwrite and structure credit, close loans, and service a growing commercial book.

Responsibilities:

• Prospect area businesses and develop a steady pipeline of commercial loans
• Understand each owner's needs and recommend credit and deposit options
• Evaluate business financials and creditworthiness to structure each loan
• Write credit memos and guide documentation through to closing
• Open new accounts and cross-sell treasury management services
• Hit growth goals while protecting overall portfolio quality

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred
• Background in commercial lending or business banking
• Confident presenting loan proposals to business owners
• Hands-on experience with underwriting and credit analysis
• Organized and able to manage several deals at once
