Original job description
An AISC-certified Michigan steel erector needs a Business Development Manager to bring in large Midwest projects of 5,000+ tons. The permanent full-time position pays $100,000-$200,000 per annum plus bonus incentives and includes Midwest travel.
Primary responsibilities
- Win new steel erection work from general contractors and owners throughout the Midwest
- Direct the pursuit approach for structural steel packages of 5,000+ tons
- Travel across the Midwest to support pursuits and build client trust
- Monitor bid calendars, competitors, and upcoming Midwest projects
- Represent an AISC-certified Michigan erector at meetings and industry events
What we're looking for
- Business development or sales experience in steel erection, structural steel, or heavy construction
- Ability to compete for and win large Midwest tonnage projects
- Preferred relationships with general contractors, fabricators, or owners
- Willing to travel the Midwest
- Strong communicator with a track record of converting opportunities
