Billing Specialist/AR - Construction

Accounts Receivable Specialist, Commercial Construction (Richmond, VA)

A well-established construction firm in Richmond, VA is adding an Accounts Receivable Specialist to its accounting team. In this role you'll keep cash flowing on active projects and work closely with project managers, owners and the accounting team.

What you'll do

• Prepare and send progress billings, including AIA G702/G703 pay applications, schedules of values and change orders
• Track retainage, lien waivers and other billing compliance documents
• Post customer payments and reconcile AR accounts each month
• Follow up on past-due accounts and resolve billing questions with owners and general contractors
• Keep AR aging reports current and support month-end close
• Work with project managers to make sure billings match job progress

What you bring

• 2+ years of accounts receivable or billing experience, with construction preferred
• Familiarity with AIA billing, retainage and lien waivers
• Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation or Procore
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and good follow-through
