Audit Manager - Real Estate
Location: Denver, CO
Overview
A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager with a real estate focus in Denver. You will supervise, direct and review audit work through planning, fieldwork and wrap-up, and serve as a key client contact.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the audit team, review workpapers and conclusions, and provide on-the-job training
- Assess internal control over financial reporting and recommend improvements to management and audit committees
- Apply GAAP to client transactions and advise clients on new accounting pronouncements
- Draft complex financial statements and footnote disclosures
- Review SEC filings and Section 404 internal control work where applicable
- Plan and oversee the audit process with quality and efficiency
- Prepare required communications to management and audit committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics; Master's in Accountancy preferred
- 6+ years of audit or public accounting experience
- Significant prior supervisory experience
- Active US CPA license required
- Industry specialty expertise preferred
