Original job description
Looking for the next step toward running your own federal projects? A federal general contractor with a strong backlog of military and government construction in Northeast Florida is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support its project teams. You'll learn the federal side of the business from experienced project managers, take real ownership of key project tasks, and build a clear path to a Project Manager role.
What You'll Do
- Support the project manager on schedule, budget, quality and safety from preconstruction through closeout
- Prepare, track and route submittals and RFIs to USACE and NAVFAC requirements
- Help build and update Primavera P6 schedules and flag issues before they hit the critical path
- Assist with buyout, subcontracts, purchase orders and change order pricing
- Keep project documentation organized, including meeting minutes, logs and monthly reports
- Coordinate daily with the superintendent, quality control manager and subcontractors in the field
- Pitch in on punch lists, O&M manuals and turnover so every project closes out cleanly
What You Bring
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field
- 2–3 years of construction management experience with a general contractor
- Federal, military or government project experience is a big plus, especially USACE or NAVFAC work
- Familiarity with RMS/QCS, Primavera P6, Procore or similar project management software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30; CQM-C certification is a plus
- Strong organization, clear communication and a willingness to relocate for the right project
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, bonus and benefits
- Health and dental insurance, plus company-paid life and long-term disability coverage
- Paid vacation and holidays and a 401(k)
- Relocation help if needed
- Mentorship and a real career path into project management on long-term federal work
