Original job description

A local bank in Center is hiring an Ag Lender to work with potato, barley, hay, and cattle operations across Saguache County and the San Luis Valley. The role covers prospecting, credit analysis, loan structuring, closing, and portfolio servicing.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring in new ag borrowers through farm calls and community ties
  • Analyze grower financial statements and cash flow plans
  • Structure operating, equipment, livestock, and real estate credit
  • Carry out inspections, annual reviews, and loan renewals
  • Cross-sell deposit and treasury products to ag clients
  • Use FSA guaranteed and direct programs when they fit

Qualifications:

  • Ag Business, Agronomy, or Finance degree is preferred
  • Background in ag lending, ag credit, or production agriculture
  • Familiarity with irrigated crops and livestock operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through
  • Able to manage a territory with little supervision

Competitive salary and bonus.

I work with banks across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region and often learn about ag lending positions before they're made public. If this role isn't quite right, reach out anyway, and we can discuss other farm and ranch opportunities in confidence.
