Original job description

A community bank in Hartley is confidentially seeking an Ag Lender to support corn, soybean, and hog producers across O'Brien County and northwest Iowa. The position covers new business, credit analysis, structuring, closing, and servicing.

Responsibilities:

Open new farm relationships through on-site visits and producer referrals
Work through grower balance sheets, income, and projected cash flow
Build operating lines and loans for equipment, swine, and farm ground
Conduct collateral inspections, annual reviews, and renewals on schedule
Connect farm families with deposit and cash management products
Layer in FSA guarantees when they help a loan request work

Qualifications:

Ag Economics, Ag Business, or Finance degree is preferred
Experience in ag lending, ag credit, or a family farm operation
Practical knowledge of row crop and swine production
Excellent interpersonal skills and roots in rural Iowa
Independent, organized, and consistent with follow-up

Competitive salary and bonus.

I recruit for community banks throughout Iowa and the Midwest and regularly hear about ag lending needs before they're advertised. If this opening isn't the right fit, reach out anyway, and we can have a confidential conversation about other farm banking roles.

How to apply: No cover letter needed. Just send your resume, or text/call me at 605-705-3077 or email logan.hovland@gogpac.com.
