Original job description
A local bank in Corning is hiring an Ag Lender to work with cattle and grain operations throughout Adams County and southwest Iowa. You'll own the full lending cycle, from prospecting and underwriting through closing and servicing.
Responsibilities:
- Grow the ag book through farm calls and local community involvement
- Assess producer financial statements and repayment capacity
- Put together operating, cattle, machinery, and farmland loans
- Complete farm inspections, yearly credit reviews, and renewals
- Offer producers deposit accounts and other bank services
- Use FSA direct and guaranteed programs where they fit the credit
Qualifications:
- Degree in Ag Business, Animal Science, or Finance a plus
- Prior work in ag lending, farm credit, or ag finance
- Familiarity with cow-calf, feeder cattle, and row crop operations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-minded approach
- Comfortable working a rural territory with little oversight
Competitive salary and bonus.
I partner with local banks all over Iowa and the Midwest and often learn about farm lending positions before they go public. If this one doesn't fit, contact me anyway, and we can talk in confidence about other ag roles that might.
