A local bank in Decorah is looking for an Ag Lender to work with farm and ag customers throughout Winneshiek County and northeast Iowa. The role owns the full lending cycle, from prospecting and underwriting through closing and ongoing servicing.
Responsibilities:
- Grow the ag book by calling on farm families and agribusinesses in the area
- Analyze balance sheets, income statements, and repayment capacity
- Prepare credit presentations for operating, machinery, equipment, and real estate loans
- Visit operations for inspections and complete yearly renewals
- Introduce deposit, cash management, and other bank services to ag clients
- Keep an eye on commodity markets and input costs
Qualifications:
- Degree in Agriculture, Ag Business, or Finance preferred
- Ag lending or ag credit experience at a bank or farm credit lender
- Familiarity with FSA loan guarantee programs is a plus
- Strong communicator who listens well to producers
- Detail-oriented and able to juggle several requests at once
