Original job description

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in program management.
Experience with supply or demand planning (e.g., demand forecasting, inventory management, resource allocation, etc.).
Experience working with data analytics tools and reporting platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience with supply/demand planning, deployment planning in large scale data center infrastructure domain (compute, storage or networking) and networking experience.
Strong foundational knowledge in data networking architectures and physical network components.
Ability to lead and influence across multiple levels of an organization with experience leading cross-functional process improvement.

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As part of the Network Planning team, you will be responsible for enabling various data center networking deployments by working with cross functional teams to develop end to end strategies that connect our demand, supply, inventory, data center labor and deployment planning. Your role will directly enable improving effectiveness of network planning team and overall network domain.

This role requires an individual to leverage strategic and end to end thinking. Successful individuals in this role have strong planning backgrounds with an engineering mindset, while being expert communicators and leaders. They are comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, yet strive to increase maturity in processes. They also have the ability to handle multiple programs at the same time while being highly customer focused. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Define, track and report on key performance metrics and raise issues proactively to ensure on-time follow-through.
Define continuous improvement areas based upon metrics and work with engineering/systems team to establish program roadmaps to deliver the improvements.
