Who We Are & What We’re Building

At Goodwin, we build tech for companies that sell private charter flights. In this industry, brokers work directly with travelers to source trips and manage client relationships, while operators own and manage the aircraft and crews that actually fly them.

Behind the scenes, brokers have traditionally juggled nonstop phone calls, email threads, and spreadsheets to match each client request with the right aircraft at the right time. It is fast, detail-heavy work where timing and accuracy matter.

Our platform brings structure and speed to that process. Brokers use Goodwin to send requests, compare options, and manage trips in one place instead of juggling dozens of conversations.

Our technology drives efficiency and our operations team drives follow-through. Together, we help brokers move quickly and confidently when details matter most so they can focus on serving their clients and growing their business.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio with distributed talent across the US, Goodwin is on a fast-growth trajectory as we redefine private aviation technology from the ground up.

Why This Role Exists

Charter flights are booked by brokers through our platform and our aircraft sourcing team. Once a trip is confirmed, the work shifts from securing the aircraft to executing the experience.

Private charter is a live operations environment. Flights are constantly moving, and small details matter.

The Flight Coordinator supports the Guest Services team by tracking flights in real time and confirming that key pieces are in place before and during each trip.

This role is focused on visibility, communication, and precision. It ensures the team always knows where the aircraft is, whether the crew is ready, if catering and transportation are in place, and when a flight is taxiing, departing, or landing.

It's an entry point into live aviation operations where you'll build a deep understanding of how trips actually run.

A few notes:

  • Because we support live flights, coverage follows aircraft movement 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are scheduled between 7:00am and 12:00am
  • This is a remote role.
  • This role has a standardized pay rate of $25/hour
  • Benefits include:
  • 2 weeks of PTO each year
  • 5 days of sick time each year
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Company-covered life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance policies
  • 401k with up to a 3.5% company match

Key Responsibilities

  • Track active and upcoming flights in real time
  • Monitor aircraft position, crew readiness, and ETA throughout the day. Confirm crew and aircraft are in position before each departure and communicate status clearly.
  • Monitor and report key flight events
  • Post crew and aircraft in-position, taxi, takeoff, landing, and any operational changes promptly in the appropriate location.
  • Manage day-of disruptions using established playbooks
  • When AOG events, ATC delays, or weather issues arise on today's flights, act quickly within established processes. Escalate to the Guest Services Specialist or Lead when the situation exceeds standard playbook.
  • Confirm day-of logistics are in place
  • Verify that catering, ground transportation, and other arrangements for today's flights are on track. Flag anything out of place immediately, and work on recovery options.
  • Manage client and broker communication channels tied to your flights
  • Action same-day requests from clients and brokers that relate directly to flights operating today.
  • Maintain accurate records throughout each shift
  • Keep trip records, tracking notes, IROP logs and status fields current in the ops system.
  • Support Guest Services Specialists during high-volume periods
  • Step in to assist with overflow tasks when the team needs it. Mutual support is how this team operates.

How You’ll Know You’re Succeeding

  • The team always has clear, real-time visibility into every active flight - no one should have to ask where an aircraft is or whether crew are in position.
  • Today's flights operate without surprises. When something does go wrong, it is surfaced and escalated early enough for the team to respond before the client feels it.
  • Day-of catering, ground transport, and logistics are confirmed and logged well before departure - with any issues surfaced early enough that they can be mitigated.
  • Specialists and Leads can stay focused on higher-level coordination because tracking is handled reliably.
  • Your communication is clear, timely, and useful - the team reads your updates and has what they need.
  • You move confidently between multiple systems throughout the day, tracking details across tools without losing clarity or momentum.
  • You have earned the trust and respect of our brokers and your teammates by being reliable, steady under pressure, and eager to step in when the team needs support. You actively collaborate with teammates and contribute to solving problems in real time.
  • You consistently balance speed, precision, and professionalism in a live operational environment where details matter.
  • You are actively building your knowledge of the broader trip management pipeline and preparing for the next step on the team.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Background in aviation - Aviation Management degree (in progress or recently completed), or direct experience at an FBO, airline, or in a flight operations environment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to track multiple active flights simultaneously without losing accuracy
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, real-time environment where priorities can shift quickly
  • Clear and concise communication, especially in a team Slack environment
  • High degree of reliability - the team depends on your tracking and updates being accurate and on time
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule across 7 days per week between 6:00am and midnight Eastern, including occasional early mornings and late nights based on flight activity
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Preferred

  • Familiarity with business aviation operations - how trips are booked, managed, and flown
  • Experience with flight tracking systems or aviation operations software
  • Experience in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operations or customer service role
