Elementary Custodian

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time custodian at Gooding Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in supporting the educational mission of the school by ensuring that all facilities are in excellent condition. We are looking to fill the position immediately. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain exterior grounds, including trash removal, landscaping, and snow removal as needed.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked.
• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
• Collaborate with other staff members to support school operations and address any custodial-related concerns.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
• Background check clearance required for to employment.
