Islamic Studies Teacher – Roles & Responsibilities

The Islamic Studies Teacher at Good Tree Academy is responsible for providing engaging Islamic education while supporting students’ academic, spiritual, and character development.

Instruction & Student Development

• Plan and teach age-appropriate Islamic Studies lessons aligned with the school’s approved curriculum.
• Teach areas such as Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Islamic History, Hadith, Adab/Akhlaq, and Duas as assigned.
• Integrate Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic values into lessons and daily student interactions.
• Assess student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams.
• Provide additional support and differentiated instruction when needed.
• Promote strong Islamic character, manners, responsibility, and respect.

Classroom & Communication

• Maintain a safe, respectful, structured, and positive classroom environment.
• Maintain attendance, grades, assignments, and assessments in Sycamore SIS.
• Grade student work and communicate academic or behavioral concerns with families in a timely manner.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences as required.

Collaboration & School Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Islamic Studies Department Head and follow the approved curriculum and instructional expectations.
• Attend department meetings, faculty meetings, school events, and required professional development.
• Participate in dismissal, prayer, supervision, and other assigned school duties.
• Follow Good Tree Academy policies regarding student safety, confidentiality, professional conduct, and communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Required.
• Islamic Studies education, training, or demonstrated knowledge preferred.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to Islamic values, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
