The Vocational Shop Instructor prepares high school for high-demand careers in modern manufacturing. This role combines hands-on technical instruction with classroom teaching, covering topics like CNC machining, industrial robotics, blueprint reading, and smart-factory automation. The ideal candidate transitions their real-world industry experience into an engaging, safety-first shop environment, helping students earn industry-recognized credentials and secure apprenticeships or entry-level roles.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom Instruction to vocational education students at Gloucester High School for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts Teaching License, Vocational Technology 9-12
• Experience and/or education working with children with special needs, preferred
• Advanced Manufacturing hardware and software knowledge, preferred
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to student success.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Track record of professionalism and effective collaboration in the workplace Status: 32.5 Hours Weekly

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Gloucester Public Schools Vocational Teacher’s salary schedule. Salary Range - $60,150.00 - $108,470.00.
