Entry-Level and Experienced Opportunities Location: Williamstown, KY | Full-time, onsite Pay: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

About the Role

Help GeoStabilization International’s field crews get the right construction materials, tools, and supplies for the job. As a Construction Yard & Materials Technician, you’ll receive deliveries, organize inventory, prepare orders, and load materials for projects.

This is hands-on work supporting construction operations. You’ll need to understand what crews are requesting, check material sizes and quantities, and ask questions when something doesn’t look right. Getting an order right helps crews stay safe, prepared, and on schedule.

Experience in construction, contractor supply, building materials, equipment yards, or a similar setting is especially relevant. General warehouse experience is helpful, but this role also requires an interest in learning construction materials and how they’re used.

We’re hiring at two experience levels for the same role. Your background will determine your starting level, responsibilities, and training needs.

Entry-Level Opportunity

This level is for candidates who bring hands-on experience, basic familiarity with construction tools or materials, and a willingness to learn. You may have worked in construction, a supply yard, landscaping, building materials, equipment handling, or another related environment.

You don’t need previous warehouse or inventory-system experience. We’ll teach you our materials, systems, and procedures while you work alongside the Warehouse Manager and experienced team members.

Experienced Opportunity

This level is for candidates with proven inventory and material-handling experience in construction, building materials, contractor supply, or a similar specialized environment.

You should be comfortable checking material specifications, managing inventory records, investigating discrepancies, and preparing accurate orders. As you learn GSI’s specialized products, including casing and compaction materials, you’ll take on more complex requests and help less experienced teammates.

What You’ll Do

At both levels, you’ll:

• Receive construction materials, tools, and supplies, checking deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.

• Identify materials and verify sizes, specifications, and quantities before putting them away or preparing orders.

• Review requests from field crews and clarify unfamiliar items or incomplete information.

• Pick, pack, stage, and prepare materials for outgoing shipments.

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment after completing required training.

• Organize storage areas so materials can be found, counted, and moved efficiently.

• Record inventory movements and participate in inventory counts.

• Identify and report damaged materials, shortages, incorrect deliveries, and inventory discrepancies.

• Keep warehouse and yard areas clean, organized, and safe.

• Work with the Warehouse Manager and field teams to meet deadlines and adjust to changing project needs.

At the experienced level, you’ll also:

• Handle more complex material requests and verify technical specifications.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies and help correct their causes.

• Learn and apply the properties, applications, and handling requirements of casing and compaction materials.

• Help field teams confirm material needs within your training and knowledge.

• Support less experienced teammates with material identification, inventory procedures, and safe handling practices.

What You Bring

For either level:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and checking quantities.

• Attention to detail and the confidence to ask questions before an incorrect order goes out.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Dependability and follow-through.

• Clear communication and the ability to work with teammates when priorities change.

• A commitment to safe work practices around trucks, equipment, and stored materials.

• Ability to learn GSI’s construction materials, terminology, and procedures.

For the entry-level opportunity:

• Hands-on experience in construction, contractor supply, building materials, equipment yards, landscaping, or a related environment is preferred.

• Basic familiarity with tools, materials, or equipment used in hands-on work.

• Willingness to learn inventory systems, handheld scanners, and material-handling equipment.

• Previous warehouse experience is not required.

For the experienced opportunity:

• Proven inventory management experience in construction, building materials, or a similar specialized warehouse or yard.

• Working knowledge of construction materials, terminology, and material specifications.

• Experience using inventory systems and handheld scanners.

• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar material-handling equipment.

• Ability to investigate discrepancies, manage competing requests, and maintain accurate records.

• Ability to learn specialized casing and compaction materials and share that knowledge with others.

Training Provided

Training is based on your starting experience and includes:

• Identification and handling of GSI’s construction materials.

• Inventory systems and handheld scanners.

• Receiving, order preparation, shipping, and inventory procedures.

• Casing and compaction materials, including specifications and handling requirements.

• Forklift training within 30 days of hire.

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position in Williamstown, Kentucky. You must be able to commute to this location. Shifts may include days, evenings, or weekends, with overtime during peak periods.

Work involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching in warehouse and yard areas with varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas, noise, and moving equipment.

You’ll regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Pay and Benefits

• $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

• Short- and long-term disability coverage.

• 401(k).

• Training and opportunities to grow into supervisory and operations roles.
