Solution Architect - Data Platforms - Hybrid

Job Duties

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Solution Architect – Data Platforms (AWS & Databricks) for a hybrid contract to hire opportunity with a Regional Health Insurance Provider located in Eagan, MN.

Compensation: $76.00 - $86.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Solution Architect to design scalable, secure data solutions across AWS and an expanding Databricks platform. This individual will partner with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and enterprise architecture to translate business needs into practical technical designs, supporting data pipeline development, platform migration, and ongoing operations. A strong foundation in AWS and data architecture is required, and hands-on Databricks experience is preferred, with training available to support further development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end data solutions across AWS and Databricks, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption
• Partner with business and analytics teams to understand requirements and translate them into architectural designs, data flows, and technical specifications
• Guide data engineering teams through implementation, evaluating design options and communicating technical trade-offs
• Support the migration and expansion of data workloads while addressing ongoing operational needs across both platforms
• Define integration patterns connecting enterprise applications, data sources, and analytics platforms
• Incorporate data quality, governance, access controls, and secure handling of sensitive information into solution designs
• Address performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, monitoring, and cost considerations
• Collaborate with platform support teams to establish maintainable solutions and support knowledge transfer
• Ensure designs align with enterprise architecture standards and participate in technical reviews
• Partner with AI and analytics teams to understand emerging data requirements and support future use cases

Primary Requirements:

• Experience in solution architecture or a senior technical design role involving cloud-based data solutions
• Strong experience with AWS and designing solutions that integrate multiple systems and data sources
• Background in data engineering, application development, or systems integration
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and modern data platform concepts
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical designs
• Understanding of security, data governance, and operational support considerations
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders in an Agile environment
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to build Databricks expertise through structured training and hands-on work

Desired Skills:

• Practical exposure to Databricks through implementation, development, architecture, or a proof of concept
• Experience with lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Apache Spark, or medallion architecture
• Experience supporting cloud data migrations or modernization initiatives
• Familiarity with SQL and Python
• Healthcare payer, health plan, or other regulated industry experience
• Familiarity with data requirements supporting AI and machine learning solutions
