Job Summary:

General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We have an exciting opportunity for an AutoTime Administrator to join our Payroll & Administration team in San Diego, CA. This role owns the day-to-day administration, configuration and continuous improvement of GA's AutoTime timekeeping solution and its integration with SAP SuccessFactors. The ideal candidate also brings hands-on AI and automation experience to modernize timekeeping, labor accounting and payroll processes.

This position will report to the Manager – Payroll & Administration and, under limited guidance, will be responsible for the duties below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

AutoTime administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the GA&A AutoTime timekeeping solution, including configuration of pay rules, work schedules, shift differentials, overtime, leave and holiday rules, and labor charging.
  • Maintain AutoTime security roles, user access, approval hierarchies and workflows in line with company policy and audit requirements.
  • Monitor daily, weekly and pay-period processing; troubleshoot and resolve timecard, interface and data-integrity issues before payroll close.
  • Support DCAA-compliant timekeeping and labor accounting practices for Government contracts, including audit trails and timecard correction procedures.
  • Apply vendor upgrades, patches and new releases; perform regression testing and coordinate production cut-over.
  • Provide tier 2/3 support for AutoTime tickets and train employees, supervisors and timekeepers on system use and changes.

SAP SuccessFactors and system integrations

  • Maintain and enhance interfaces between AutoTime and SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Time Off/Time Tracking and Employee Central Payroll) so employee, organization, job and time data stay in sync.
  • Design, build, monitor and troubleshoot integrations using SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Platform Integration/CPI) and other middleware, including iFlows, mappings, scheduling, error handling and alerting.
  • Develop and support API-based integrations (REST, SOAP and OData, including SuccessFactors OData APIs) as well as file-based interfaces (SFTP, flat file, XML, JSON), with secure authentication such as OAuth and certificates.
  • Manage integrations between AutoTime, SuccessFactors, payroll, labor accounting/ERP and other downstream systems; own interface specifications, data mappings and transformation rules.
  • Configure and support SuccessFactors components that feed or consume time data, such as business rules, picklists, foundation objects and Integration Center jobs.
  • Reconcile employee master data and time records across systems; investigate and correct discrepancies.
  • Partner with HRIS, Payroll and Integration teams on SuccessFactors release reviews (semi-annual releases) and assess impacts to AutoTime and connected interfaces.

AI and automation

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, machine learning and RPA to timekeeping, payroll and labor accounting processes, such as anomaly detection on timecards, automated exception handling and predictive labor analytics.
  • Design, build and support automations and AI-assisted tools (for example, chatbots for timekeeping questions, intelligent document processing, or generative AI for reporting and documentation).
  • Evaluate AI capabilities within SuccessFactors and AutoTime, and recommend adoption in line with GA's security, data privacy and responsible-AI policies.
  • Measure and report the business value of automation initiatives, such as hours saved and error reduction.

Business analysis and project delivery

  • Lead meetings and discussions on new project initiatives throughout all phases of typical ITS projects with little supervision.
  • Gather requirements and distinguish between a reasonable business requirement and a solution requirement.
  • Document process flows in swim lane format and write functional specifications for complex development objects (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Workflow).
  • Write SQL queries and build reports to support operations, audits and analysis.
  • Develop test procedures, engage customers for user acceptance testing, and follow established change control procedures to move changes to Production.
  • Identify, track and resolve issues from all project phases; communicate project status, both positive and negative, in a concise and meaningful manner.
  • Work closely with developers, vendors, DBAs, application administrators, infrastructure, security and other functional analysts to deliver cross-functional solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.

  • Working knowledge of APIs and integration standards, including REST, SOAP and OData, JSON/XML, XSLT or Groovy mappings, and OAuth or certificate-based authentication.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI, machine learning or RPA to business processes, such as building automations, prompt-based or generative AI solutions, or predictive models.
  • Experience writing SQL queries; working knowledge of a scripting language (e.g., Python) is strongly desired.
  • Thorough understanding of software lifecycle methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong business analyst and solution design skills, with experience on multiple large system implementations.
  • Ability to follow best practices for documentation and unit testing.
  • Ability to support several projects, tickets and deliverables in a fast-paced environment and multi-task without sacrificing quality of work.
