A Generac Channel Partner in the Monmouth County area is hiring a Gas Pipefitter to join their generator installation team. You’ll run gas lines independently, but your real job is getting installations finished. You’ll work side by side with electricians to set, connect, and start up standby generators for residential and commercial customers.

This role performs authorized gas-connection work, coordinates with electricians and installation crew members, and helps complete safe, code-compliant installations.

Responsibilities

Gas Piping

  • Run gas lines from the meter or tank to the generator independently, start to finish
  • Cut, thread, and connect galvanized pipe
  • Make connections using a Viega MegaPress or equivalent press tool
  • Install and route CSST, including proper bonding
  • Size gas lines correctly for generator load and run length
  • Pressure test and leak check all work before startup

Generator Installation

  • Load generators and materials onto the truck at the warehouse
  • Set generators on-site, including positioning and leveling
  • Help build and prepare pads and platforms
  • Dig trenches for gas and electrical runs
  • Assist with generator setup and startup alongside the electrician

Inventory & Truck Stock

  • Keep your truck stocked with fittings, pipe, CSST, and supplies needed for daily work
  • Track inventory usage and keep counts current
  • Order material before supplies run out to prevent job delays

Requirements

  • 2+ Proven experience running gas lines without supervision
  • Hands-on experience threading pipe, using a MegaPress, and installing CSST
  • Working knowledge of gas code and safe installation practices
  • Ability to manage truck inventory and material orders
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on completing the entire installation
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
