Original job description
About Us:
At Fullbay, our mission is simple - to create safer roads for our families and yours. As leaders in the heavy-duty repair industry, we power shops with technology that helps them run smarter and more efficiently. As an AI-First company, we invite artificial intelligence to eliminate friction, spark innovation, and drive efficiencies in every conversation - for our teams and our customers.
Position Overview:
The Inbound Business Development Representative connects Fullbay with prospective heavy-duty repair shops and turns leads into sales opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you’ll respond to demo requests within SLA windows, follow up on reassigned and other engaged leads that need timely outreach, then qualify their needs and book demos for Account Executives. You’ll own your assigned leads from first touch through conversion, on an established team with a solid foundation that is retiring older systems and rebuilding the BDR organization as AI-first.
This role suits someone with one to two years in a customer-facing job with measurable goals, whether that’s sales, customer service, retail, call center, recruiting, the military, or the skilled trades. Success looks like fast response times on inbound leads, every cadence completed unless the lead is properly disqualified, clean notes in Salesforce, daily activity targets hit, and monthly goals for completed qualified demos and closed won revenue met or beaten. It also means using coaching, call reviews, and AI-first workflows to keep sharpening your talk tracks and objection handling.
The Right Wrench for the Job
In a heavy-duty shop, the service writer is the first voice a driver hears when a truck is down, and the best ones answer fast, ask the right questions, and get the right tech on the job before the customer has to call twice. That’s this role, but for shops looking at Fullbay for the first time. You’re the right fit if you pick up the phone the moment a demo request lands, can work a hot lead and a slow-to-respond one in the same afternoon, and keep your notes clean enough that an Account Executive can walk into a demo fully prepared. You treat every “no” as information, you take coaching and run with it, and you’re curious about how AI can sharpen your next call.
This isn’t the role for someone who needs a slow pace, a flexible response window, or a job where the numbers don’t follow you home. If you let leads cool while you wait for the perfect moment, or you’d rather not be measured on daily activity and monthly results, this isn’t your shop. But if you thrive on speed, stay composed under pressure, and want to help build an AI-first BDR team on a proven foundation, we’d like to talk.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond to inbound leads within defined SLA windows by phone and email to maximize conversion potential
- Manage inbound channels including the inbound phone line, Facebook leads, and demo request submissions
- Hold real conversations with shop owners and managers who have raised their hand, and ask good discovery questions to learn what each shop needs
- Qualify prospects based on Fullbay’s criteria and schedule demos with Account Executives
- Own lead follow-up and lead management once assigned, including reassigned leads and other engaged leads that require timely outreach
- Work leads who do not respond right away through multi-touch cadences, and complete each cadence unless the lead meets documented disqualification criteria
- Research each account and personalize outreach so every conversation is relevant to that shop’s business
- Maintain lead status notes, activity, and next steps in Salesforce
- Collaborate closely with Inbound Account Executives to ensure strong handoffs, demo alignment, and pipeline consistency
- Maintain a minimum of 75 dials per day
- Meet or exceed monthly goals for completed qualified demos and closed won revenue
- Use AI-first workflows to test responses, talk tracks, and objection handling, and share what works with the team
- Attend weekly coaching sessions, 1:1s, floor syncs, and training with the methodology coach, and review your own call recordings and metrics to act on feedback quickly
- Share what you hear from prospects with Sales and Marketing so lead quality and messaging keep improving
- Stay informed on Fullbay product updates and customer pain points to drive relevant conversations
- Adhere to Fullbay’s rules of engagement and lead SLAs
- Adheres to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- Minimum GED or High School Diploma or equivalent. A college degree is not required.
- One (1) to two (2) years of prior hands-on work experience in a customer-facing role with measurable goals, such as sales, sales development, customer service, retail, cellular sales, call center, hospitality, education, recruiting, military, or the skilled trades.
- A track record you can describe with numbers, such as targets, rankings, or customer scores that you met or beat.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective and persuasive communication over the phone, via email, or in person.
- Natural curiosity and good discovery instincts: asks thoughtful questions, listens closely, and applies a structured qualification framework so only sales-ready opportunities move forward.
- Grit, resilience, and composure under pressure and rejection. Treats a “no” as information and keeps going with a sharper approach.
- Coachable and data driven. Reviews their own calls and metrics, acts on feedback quickly, and is comfortable working with numbers and monthly goals.
- Comfortable with online meeting software, web conferencing tools, and CRMs and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce. Fullbay will train you on its stack.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace or similar web-based tools, and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Open to changing how things are done. Respects what already works and pushes to improve it, including by adopting AI-first ways of working.
- Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast paced SaaS environment where speed matters.
- Proven track record of success and over-achievement (in a work or school-based setting).
- Must be a self starter with a positive attitude, confidence, and a desire to be the best.
- Team player who juggles multiple priorities and raises the performance of those around them.
