Scale Attendant PT

Inspect loads to identify contents and determine if load is properly covered and secured; enter load information and identification into computer; operate computerized truck scale to determine weight of loads; direct customers to predetermined areas in landfill sites for disposal based on load contents; provide customer service; operate computer to process proper charges for each load and generate charge ticket; assign and collect disposal fees; make change and handle cash; file charge tickets; record and secure cash receipts; maintain file records of loads containing asbestos, contaminated soils and other hazardous materials; maintain files and records for district; answer scale house phone; respond to questions regarding fees, hours of operation, materials accepted, etc.; perform light custodial duties; perform light duties to maintain clean scale surfaces; maintain week and litter around immediate scale vicinity; monitor and record any scale accuracy variations; other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; experience or training in data entry, personal computer operation or any combination of education, experience and training as may be acceptable; if don't currently have, ability to obtain and maintain valid driver's license; must have experience handling cash transactions and customer service; able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs; be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend-over to pick up litter.
