Job Summary:
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager is responsible for building and leading the supply chain organization for AI server, rack integration, and high-performance computing products. This role owns supplier ecosystem strategy, strategic sourcing, procurement execution with existing suppliers, supplier management, and long-/short-lead-time material management to ensure materials are available when production needs them, while driving cost optimization, supply chain resilience, and minimal excess inventory. The Sr. Supply Chain Manager partners with Program Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, global commodity teams, key component suppliers, and customer-facing teams to align supply commitments with customer demand through NPI ramp, mass production, and sustaining operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build a deep understanding of the AI server supply ecosystem and its rules of engagement, including GPU/CPU and silicon vendors, foundry and advanced-packaging partners, and Taiwan-based power, thermal, and mechanical suppliers, and clearly define the scope, ownership, and handling of NVIDIA-controlled materials versus Foxconn-sourced materials.
- Establish a long-/short-lead-time material management framework covering components with lead times ranging from 3 days to 40+ weeks, including demand forecast alignment, long-lead-time commitments, NCNR and liability terms, buffer and safety-stock strategy, pull-in/push-out flexibility, and inventory aging control, ensuring material is on hand when needed without excess inventory build-up.
- Build the supply chain team from the ground up, defining organization structure, roles, hiring plan, policies, and approval workflows, and lead the deployment of procurement systems and tools, including ERP purchasing modules, supplier portal, PO/EDI processes, and reporting dashboards, aligned with Foxconn global procurement standards.
- Lead strategic sourcing for new programs and critical commodities, including market and supplier landscape analysis, new supplier identification and qualification, RFQ/RFP management, should-cost analysis, and dual-sourcing strategies to reduce supply risk and cost.
- Manage procurement execution with existing suppliers, including PO placement and release, delivery scheduling, price and contract renewals, payment and commercial terms, change and cancellation management, and alignment with global procurement and commodity teams.
- Own supplier management across the supply base, including supplier onboarding, performance scorecards (QCDS), quarterly business reviews, corrective action follow-up, capacity and risk monitoring, and long-term partnership development with key suppliers.
- Drive supply chain KPI performance, including material availability, cost reduction/PPV, on-time delivery, planning accuracy, inventory turns, and E&O exposure, and oversee escalation management, trade and tariff compliance, supply chain localization or transfer, and continuous improvement across planning, purchasing, warehouse, and logistics functions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Logistics Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA/EMBA), Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Relevant certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- More than fifteen (15) years of global sourcing, supply chain management, procurement, or supplier management experience in electronics manufacturing (EMS/ODM/OEM), networking, consumer electronics, or related industries, with at least five (5) years of experience leading cross-functional supply chain or sourcing teams.
- Demonstrated track record in global sourcing strategy, ODM/OEM and component sourcing across Taiwan/Asia-based supply chains, dual-supplier risk mitigation, supplier quality auditing, cost reduction, on-time delivery and planning accuracy improvement, and negotiation of supplier commercial terms.
- Experience building teams from the ground up, leading large-scale supply chain organizations, executing supply chain transfer, and supporting NPI and volume ramp strongly preferred; Mandarin proficiency preferred.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager works in office, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing environments. The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility, including warehouse areas, receiving/shipping docks, production lines, kitting areas, inventory locations, and customer-facing review areas. The position may involve exposure to noise, dust, ESD-controlled areas, powered equipment, or varying temperatures and requires appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary. Extended hours, shift support, weekend coverage, or occasional travel may be required to support customers, suppliers, carriers, or manufacturing sites.
