IT Cloud Engineer

Forrest T. Jones & Company, Inc., and its affiliates (“FTJ”), provide insurance and insurance related services to clients, corporations, employers, and individuals. These services include providing benefits through innovative life and health insurance plans, financial services, and customized insurance products for niche markets.

Position Summary Responsible for building, automating, and operating cloud-based infrastructure and applications; delivering changes through infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines; monitoring system reliability and responding to incidents; and building tools that automate repetitive tasks to minimize errors and prevent downtime.

Expectations

• Manage and maintain Microsoft Azure services to include Entra ID, Azure networking, Azure Data Factory, etc. using infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, internal and third-party application deployments
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and service level objectives (SLOs) across the Azure environment
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews for production systems
• Maintain company’s security standards in the Azure ecosystem
• Create system diagrams, runbooks, and documentation as needed
• Provide Tier 3 operational support as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requisites

• Bachelor’s Degree, University Program Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of one IT industry certification, e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, etc.
• Two or more years’ experience in a cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE role in an enterprise environment, including scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
