Before School/After School Program - JCL

The Extended Day Program Staff member supports the safe, structured, and engaging operation of district-sponsored before-school and after-school programs. Individuals in this position provide student supervision, support educational and enrichment activities, promote positive student behavior, and assist with daily program operations. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based on program needs, individual qualifications, professional credentials, and assigned roles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for students participating in extended day programs.
• Supervise students during scheduled activities, transitions, meals, recreation, and other program operations.
• Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of academic, recreational, enrichment, and developmental activities.
• Support student learning, engagement, and positive behavior through age-appropriate activities and interactions.
• Maintain appropriate student supervision, attendance records, and accountability procedures.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, and authorized student release procedures.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, program staff, and school administrators as appropriate.
• Follow district policies, program guidelines, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Respond appropriately to student needs, emergencies, and unexpected situations within the scope of assigned responsibilities and training.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and employee information.
• Collaborate with program personnel to ensure efficient daily operations and a positive student experience.
• Perform additional program-related duties as assigned, consistent with individual qualifications, credentials, and program needs.
