Position Summary
The HRIS Specialist of Five Star Parks & Attractions is responsible for the administration, accuracy, and performance of the company’s HR technology, with UKG Workforce Pro and UKG Dimensions at the core of the role. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Director of Human Resources, the HRIS Specialist configures and maintains HR and timekeeping systems, manages the HR systems ticket queue, controls system changes and vendor updates, and delivers the reporting and analytics that leaders use to run the business. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that supports every park and the Support Center, and partners closely with Payroll, Finance, IT, and Operations on HR projects and system improvements.
This position is remote but is ideally located to one of our parks or the Charlotte, NC area.
Key Responsibilities
UKG Workforce Pro & Dimensions Administration
- Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG Workforce Pro and UKG Dimensions, including employee records, job and organizational structures, timekeeping, accruals, and scheduling configuration.
- Build and maintain pay rules, work rules, holiday and premium pay, and minor labor rules that support park operations across multiple states.
- Manage security roles, access profiles, and user provisioning so leaders see only the data their role requires.
- Maintain integrations and data feeds between UKG and payroll, benefits, applicant tracking, and other connected systems; monitor for errors and resolve them quickly.
- Set up locations, cost centers, and labor structures for new park openings, acquisitions, and integrations.
Ticket Management & End-User Support
- Own the HR systems ticket queue, triaging, prioritizing, and resolving requests within agreed response times.
- Troubleshoot timecard, punch, schedule, accrual, and access issues for General Managers, park leaders, and Support Center staff.
- Escalate complex issues to UKG and other vendors and track cases through resolution.
- Identify recurring tickets and fix root causes through configuration, training, or process changes.
System Changes, Updates & Releases
- Manage a documented change process: gather requirements, configure and test in a sandbox, obtain approval, and deploy.
- Review UKG release notes and other vendor updates, assess impact on pay, timekeeping, and compliance, and communicate changes to affected users.
- Coordinate testing ahead of major releases and any payroll-impacting change.
- Maintain configuration documentation, SOPs, and a change log that are current and audit-ready.
Reporting & Analytics
- Build and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards for headcount, turnover, labor cost, overtime, hours, and staffing.
- Deliver recurring reporting to HR, Finance, and Operations leadership, including support for labor budgeting and forecasting.
- Conduct regular audits of employee, job, and pay data to ensure accuracy and correct issues at the source.
- Translate data into clear findings and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
HR Systems & Projects
- Administer or support other HR platforms, including applicant tracking, onboarding, learning, benefits enrollment, and performance tools.
- Lead or support HR technology projects, including implementations, upgrades, process automation, and vendor evaluations.
- Partner with IT on system security, integrations, and access standards.
- Create training materials and train HR team members and park leaders on system processes and changes.
Data Integrity & Compliance
- Protect the confidentiality and security of employee data in line with company policy and applicable law.
- Support compliance reporting and audits, including EEO-1, ACA, wage and hour, and minor work-permit tracking where applicable.
- Ensure record retention and system practices meet federal and state requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of HRIS or HR technology experience, including 2+ years of hands-on administration in UKG Workforce Pro (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) and/or UKG Dimensions.
- Working knowledge of timekeeping, pay rules, accruals, scheduling, and payroll-impacting configuration.
- Experience managing a ticket queue and following a structured change management and testing process.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting tools; Power BI, Tableau, or SQL a plus.
- Understanding of FLSA, state wage and hour laws (including minor labor requirements), and HR data confidentiality.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to park leaders and executives.
- Ability to manage multiple tickets, projects, and deadlines, and to travel occasionally to parks, including some nights and weekends during rollouts or peak seasons.
- Experience in family entertainment, attractions, hospitality, restaurant, or retail, or in a multi-site hourly workforce, preferred. HRIP, SHRM-CP, PHR, or UKG certification a plus.
