Original job description

(Atlanta, Full-time, Hybrid) - Must reside in the Atlanta area

Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm is seeking a naturally inquisitive AI Solutions Engineer with legal applications experience to help evaluate, configure, integrate, and build technology solutions that support legal work and business operations.

Position Summary

This role connects business needs with technical capabilities. You will work closely with legal professionals, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand problems, investigate systems, validate functionality, and deliver practical solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on technical ability. You enjoy exploring unfamiliar applications, asking thoughtful questions, testing assumptions, and determining how systems can work together. You can move from an ambiguous request to a clear recommendation - and help carry that recommendation through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with legal and business teams to understand workflows, identify challenges, and translate needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Explore applications through hands-on testing, documentation review, data and Integration analysis, and discussions with users and vendors.
  • Validate whether system functional and AI capabilities meet business needs, identifying limitations, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Determine when to use existing functionality, configure an application, integrate systems, or develop a custom solution, developing solutions based on business value, scalability, maintainability, security, and operational risk.
  • Configure applications, workflows, permissions, and automation to support legal and operational processes.
  • Develop prototypes and proofs of concept to test ideas and resolve uncertainty before broader implementation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, reusable functions, and lightweight applications to extend system capabilities, transform data, connect applications, and automate business processes.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party applications using APIs, web services, and appropriate integration tools.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled workflows for accuracy, reliability, appropriate data access, and failure handling, incorporating human review where needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, security, data, and application teams to design and deliver reliable solutions.
  • Investigate issues across applications, integrations, and data flows to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Document findings, configurations, solution designs, and support procedures in language appropriate for the audience.
  • Support testing, implementation, and adoption, incorporating user feedback to improve the solution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience supporting and designing enterprise-scale legal technology solutions and integrations.
  • Experience working with LLM’s and building agentic processes and workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down ambiguous problems and validate conclusions with evidence.
  • Proven ability to work with AI to test, troubleshoot, and maintain code in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or a comparable language, with an emphasis on readable, reusable, and well-documented solutions.
  • Experience translating business needs into technical requirements and explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences.
  • A collaborative approach, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Attention to data quality, integration, access controls, confidentiality, and operational reliability.
  • The ability to balance exploration with delivery, recognizing when further investigation is valuable and when there is enough evidence to move forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with legal applications and platforms such as iManage, M365, Aderant, Litera, or Intapp.
  • Knowledge of APIs, data structures, Databricks and SQL, and scripting or other tools used to investigate systems and automate work.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently.
  • Experience supporting legal teams, law firms, corporate legal departments, or other professional services organizations.
  • Experience with cloud applications, enterprise integrations, workflow automation, AI-enabled solutions, and data lakes.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical alternatives and recommend solutions based on scalability, maintainability, risk, and business value.

What success looks like

You build trust across teams, turn unclear requests into well-defined problems, and validate what applications can actually do. You carry solutions from investigation through implementation, ensuring applications, integrations, data flows, and AI-enabled workflows work reliably together. Your work delivers measurable business value, follows established security and data governance standards, and remains maintainable as business needs evolve.
