Residential DSP

Description Residential Direct Support Professional City: Burlington, IA · Type: Full-time, Part-time · Openings: 2 · Pay field: $13 to $16 per hour Evenings are when our Burlington homes feel most like home: dinner, downtime, and winding down for the night. We have two Direct Support Professional openings built around those hours, one full-time and one part-time, supporting adults with disabilities who live in our community homes.

Shifts available

• Full-time: Saturday to Wednesday, 4 p.m. to midnight, about 40 hours, with Thursday and Friday off
• Part-time: four shifts a week, about 32 hours, split between two Burlington homes: Monday, 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.; Thursday and Friday, 4 p.m. to midnight; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What you'll do

• Help with dinner, evening routines, personal care, and bedtime
• Provide overnight support on the Monday shift
• Take part in activities and keep everyone safe and comfortable
• Write clear notes at the end of every shift

What you'll bring

• Patience, dependability, and a caring attitude
• Comfort around cats, since a friendly cat lives in one of our Burlington homes
• The ability to pass background checks
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license

Pay: $13 to $16 per hour.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
• Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
• Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
• Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
• Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.
• Must have access to a telephone.
• Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
