Description

Direct Support Professional City: Fairfield, IA · Type: Full-time, Part-time · Openings: 2 · Pay field: $13 to $16 per hour We have two openings for Direct Support Professionals in Fairfield: one full-time evening schedule and one part-time daytime schedule. Both support adults with disabilities in a home setting, where you'll help with daily routines, build trust, and make each day a little more independent for the people you serve.

Shifts available

• Full-time, evenings: Tuesday to Friday, 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., plus Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. That is about 38 hours a week, with Sunday and Monday off
• Part-time, days: Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus every other Saturday, 8 a.m. to midnight. That is about 16 hours some weeks and up to 32 on Saturday weeks

What you'll do

• Help with meals, personal care, and household routines
• Support community activities, appointments, and skill building
• Keep clear, accurate notes for every shift

What you'll bring

• Reliability and a patient, respectful approach
• The ability to pass background checks
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license

Pay: $13 to $16 per hour.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
• Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
• Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
• Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
• Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.
• Must have access to a telephone.
• Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.

Salary Description

$13-$16 per hour
